Which type of liposuction is best for me?

Our goal is to match our patients with the best techniques after a comprehensive examination. About 30 percent of the people we see are not good liposuction candidates, and for the rest, a combination of laser liposuction and tumescent liposuction often produces the best result. When under the care of Dr. Khalifeh, your liposuction or body sculpting treatment is customized for you.

The fusion of advanced technology and education: Superior results in liposuction

When considering body sculpting, you must separate hype from reality. We believe the fusion of advanced technology with education, experience, and artistry produces a far superior result.

What are liposuction techniques?

Most modern liposuction procedures start with infusing tumescent fluid. Tumescent fluid is composed of saline, lidocaine for pain control, epinephrine for bleeding control, and bicarbonate to make the infusion less painful. The quantity of these substances will depend on the area being treated. If you hear of the “wet technique” or “super-wet technique.” These terms refer to the quantity of fluid injected. No matter what type of liposuction is to be used, you can expect some amount of tumescent fluid to be injected.

What are liposuction technologies?

After the infusion of the tumescent fluid, varying technologies may be applied, including laser or ultrasound, to break up and release the fat cells from the surrounding tissues. Skin tightening and fat breaking technologies vary and include laser-assisted (such as Smartlipo) or ultrasound (such as Vaser), or radiofrequency devices such as ThermiTight or J-plasma. Power-Assisted liposuction called MicroAire or a water-jet assisted system may be applied to loosen and break up the fat. There are advantages and disadvantages to each method. We have selected what we believe to be the most effective technologies, including Smartlipo. Our laser liposuction treatment is cutting edge and can help you attain your beauty goals.

What are the types of liposuction anesthesia?

Recovery from liposuction and laser liposuction recovery

Recovery from a single Smartlipo treatment requires only a day or two. For more involved cases such as multiple area liposuction and fat transfer cases, recovery takes from five to seven days before you can return to work or other activities. FAQ

This is an important question and is related again to weight control (a recurrent theme). Click here to get the facts about recovery.

Liposuction is not a weight control method. It is a body reshaping treatment. This important distinction can help you achieve long term results after liposuction. Read about liposuction vs. weight loss for more information.

Smartlipo is a tolerable procedure for most patients that do not want to undergo anesthesia.
