Thigh Lift

Our thigh lift creates a sculpted, youthful look to sagging or overly large thighs. After a significant loss of weight, your thighs may be unsightly, with sagging skin and tissue that leaves you feeling self-conscious. An excess of sagging skin and tissue can cause chafing and skin rashes. A thigh lift removes the excess skin and tissue, resculpting your thighs to appear firm and balanced.

What can a
thigh lift do for me?

  • Remove excess fat and skin in the inner thighs
  • Tighten sagging skin and improve overall thigh contours
  • Decrease chafing and rashes caused by excess skin

Who is a good candidate?

If you have an abundance of excess skin and fat in the thighs, are in good health, and looking for improved thigh contour, you may be a good candidate for a thigh lift. As with all post-weight loss procedures, you should be at or near an ideal weight for your height.

What are the types of thigh lift surgeries?

Dr. Khalifeh offers two types of thigh lift surgery:

  • A medial thigh lift can address moderate excess skin in the upper inner thighs. The incisions are in the upper inner thigh region near the groin.
  • An extended inner thigh lift treats more severe cases of sagging skin and tissue, and requires a longer incision, extending from the groin and around the hip.

How is thigh lift surgery performed?

During the procedure, thigh fat may be removed with liposuction. Excess skin is then pulled tight and removed to lie closely against the resculpted thigh tissue. The incisions are closed, and the thighs bandaged and protected with a compression garment. It is an outpatient procedure in most cases, and once complete, you are free to return home, driven by another person, to rest and recover.

What type of anesthesia will be used for thigh lift surgery?

The anesthesia administered may be general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. The type of anesthesia that will be appropriate for you will reflect the extent of the procedure, and the level of comfort you need. At DC Cosmetics, anesthesia will be administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist.

Your consultation

In your private consultation, Dr. Khalifeh will discuss your personal aesthetic goals and review your medical history. He will examine your thighs and advise you of the procedure needed to achieve your vision.

What are the risks of a thigh lift?

While complications are rare, the risks include infection, excessive bleeding, excessive scarring, wound healing problems, and fluid collections. Less common complications include neuralgia (the development of blood clots in the legs). There are also risks associated with reactions to anesthesia. Dr. Khalifeh will meet with you to discuss how to perform this surgery while minimizing risks. FAQ

When you have retained firm, flexible skin, it is possible to slim your thighs with liposuction. However, if you have lax, hanging skin and tissue, you will need to undergo surgery to create a smooth, firm look.

All surgery leaves scars, but with a medial thigh lift, the scarring is minimal. If a more extensive procedure is necessary, the incisions must be longer, and you will have surgical scars from the groin and around your hip, which will fade to a thin white line over time and will be invisible under clothing. If you struggle with an excess of hanging skin and tissue on your thighs, these scars will likely be a minor issue for you.

The results last for years but can change if you do not stay at a healthy weight and engage in regular exercise. Taking care of yourself after this surgery will help you have trimmer, leaner thighs for years into the future.
