Laser-assisted liposuction may be the ideal treatment to remove excess fat on the upper arms. Arm liposuction procedure

Removing excess fat from the upper arms requires about two hours to complete. The basic steps are as follows:

  • You will have a prescription for antibiotics to begin two days before your treatment, and if desired, you can take valium before the procedure.
  • The skin on your upper arms is cleaned with an antiseptic.
  • The area is numbed with injections in three locations on the upper arms.

  • A tumescent solution is infused into the upper arms to numb the area and control bleeding and bruising.
  • The Smartlipo cannula, which contains a laser fiber, is inserted into the area. The energy emitted by the fiber releases the fat from the surrounding tissue so that it can be more easily and evenly extracted, with less trauma.
  • Once the procedure is complete, your arms will be protected with a compression garment, and you are released to return home.
