Skin folds occur both in the pubic area and sometimes around the umbilicus. This creates the appearance of “2 compartments” which is bothersome. If a patient cannot lose weight, a tummy tuck may still improve appearance greatly, as it did in this obese tummy tuck patient. Obesity does increase some of the risks associated with a tuck, so careful planning and technique is required.
