Areas Treatable With Liposuction

Have you noticed that some areas of your body are more resistant to diets and exercises than others? Are you carrying extra fats in your thighs, tummy, buttocks, or neck, unable to remove them through natural means? You might have noticed that the overall proportion of fats in your body remains stable regardless of how much weight you gain or lose.

Unfortunately, you can’t target specific fat cells with diets and exercise—attempts at spot reduction are often fruitless. Liposuction is the ideal means of changing the proportion of fat cells in your body. You can extract unwanted fat cells from the trouble spots, removing the stubborn fat pockets. When considering liposuction, you must carefully consider the areas you want to target with liposuction.

Below, we provide a brief overview of the most common areas treated with liposuction.

Neck Liposuction/ Chin Liposuction

The neck and chin are the first areas to show signs of aging, with the skin around the neck becoming flabby. Over time, fat deposits collect around the chin and neck to give you a “double chin.” Furthermore, the excessive accumulation of fat cells in the chin is often genetically determined, affecting otherwise thin people. However, neck liposuction or chin liposuction can remove the unwanted fat cells to give you a sharper jawline.

Arm Liposuction

As you grow older, the accumulated fat cells in your upper arms combine with the sagging skin tissues to give you a loose, flappy, batwing-like appearance. Arm liposuction involves a micro-incision on the upper arms to remove all the excess and unwanted fat tissues, giving you slimmer arms. If you have excess skin laxity in the area, you can combine the arm liposuction with an arm lift.

Chest Liposuction

Chest liposuction is an extremely common procedure amongst men suffering from gynecomastia, which leads to the development of breast tissues. Chest liposuction removes the unwanted fat tissues from the region to flatten your chest. Following the removal of the male breasts, the excess skin can be trimmed and tightened with a body contouring or body lift procedure.

Back Liposuction

Some people experience excess fat accumulation in the back, leading to a bulky appearance. Back liposuction is especially common amongst individuals who notice sagging back rolls. The procedure uses a small incision to access and extract the accumulated fat tissues in your back.

Tummy Liposuction

The tummy or abdomen is one of the first areas people think of when they consider liposuction. Tummy liposuction is one of the most common procedures, and for obvious reasons — fat accumulation in the tummy is more visible and obvious than in other regions. Even fairly slim individuals can have excess fat pockets in the tummy, regardless of dieting and exercise efforts. Tummy liposuction removes the excess fat pockets to give you a flat tummy. It can also be combined with an abdominoplasty to remove the excess skin tissues and tighten the underlying muscles, revealing the abdominal muscles underneath.

Hip & Buttock Liposuction

Thigh Liposuction

Liposuction on the thighs is popular amongst individuals who notice “saddlebags,” i.e., the rolls of fat on the back of their upper thighs. Thigh liposuction removes the excess fat to improve the aesthetics and take express pressure off your legs.
