Our center specializes in minimal scarring plastic surgery. What does that mean? It means that anything that can be done by the surgeon to minimize the scar is done at the time of surgery, which maximizes your possible results. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a “no scar” tummy tuck. There are smartlipo alternatives that we offer, but if you are a better candidate for a tummy tuck, the results of the tummy tuck will be superior.
At the two week visit, when the scar is beginning to heal, we recommend our patients to start silicone scar therapy via silicone patches which are like long bandaids that are placed on the lenght of the scar. We will also often treat the scar with our matrix laser and microdermabrasion to help promote healing. For red scars, we may treat with a vascular oriented laser to promote healing.
