A breast lift, also known as a mastopexy, is a procedure to raise and rejuvenate the apperance of the breast. This procedure is designed to elevate the breasts and give them a more youthful appearance.
A breast lift may also be completed in conjunction with breast enlargement surgery (augmentation), at which point in becomes known as an augmentation mastopexy.
Dr. Khalifeh's preferred approach is the vertical pattern matopexy or augmentation mastopexy which minimizes scars and gives a lasting lift to the breast.

General Procedure
The breast lift surgical procedure usually takes three hours to perform.
Dr. Khalifeh is well known for his augmentation mastopexy results. His preferred approach is the vertical pattern/superior medial pedicle approach, although he also performs other procedures occasionally for select breast shapes that may be better reshaped with another approach.

Location:
This surgery is performed under general anesthesia. This is either performed in a surgery center such as the chevy chase surgery center, or in a hospital where Dr. Khalifeh holds priviliges, such as Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington DC.
An overnight stay is not required, but may be arranged if preferred.
Recovery Process
Generally, post-operative instructions call for rest and limited arm movement in order to speed up the healing process and recovery time. For a desk job, typical time off work required is five days.
The patient will need to wear a specialized surgical bra for several weeks. This is provided by our office, and patients may change to a "sports" bra of their liking at one week.
Patients sometimes report minor pain associated with surgery which can be treated with oral medication.
